Deadlines
How order and pickup deadlines work
drizzlemail tracks two types of deadlines to help you never miss an order or pickup.
Order deadlines
Amazon sends invites in batches called "waves". The order deadline depends on when your invite arrived:
| Wave | Invites arrive | Order deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | Tuesday morning | Friday 7:45am UK |
| Friday | Friday evening / Saturday | Monday 7:45pm UK |
Order deadlines are fixed times, not "3 days from invite". A Tuesday invite must be ordered by Friday 7:45am UK, regardless of what time on Tuesday it arrived.
How drizzlemail calculates waves
When an invite email arrives, drizzlemail checks the timestamp:
- Monday-Thursday: Assigned to Tuesday wave → Thursday deadline
- Friday-Sunday: Assigned to Friday wave → Monday deadline
Pickup deadlines
Once an item is ready at the locker, you have 3 days to collect it. The countdown starts when Amazon sends the "ready for collection" email.
You can mark items as collected before the pickup email arrives. drizzlemail will confirm the pickup automatically when the email comes through.
Deadline colors
The countdown timer changes color based on urgency:
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Plenty of time remaining |
| Yellow | Less than 24 hours |
| Red | Less than 6 hours - urgent! |
What happens when deadlines pass?
Missed order deadline
If you don't order an item before the deadline:
- The invite moves to the Archive section
- It's marked as "Expired"
- If you order it anyway, drizzlemail will restore it automatically
Missed pickup deadline
If you don't collect an item:
- Amazon may return it to the seller
- The item remains in the "Ready" section until drizzlemail receives a return email
