Common issues and solutions

Having trouble? Here are solutions to common issues.

Gmail Connection

Connection failed

If Gmail connection fails during setup:

Check your browser

Try a different browser. Chrome or Firefox work best.

Disable ad blockers

Temporarily disable ad blockers or privacy extensions that might interfere with the OAuth flow.

Clear cookies

Clear cookies for drizzlemail.app and try again.

Check popup blockers

Ensure popups aren't blocked for drizzlemail.app.

"Access denied" error

This means the Google OAuth was cancelled or rejected:

  1. Try connecting again
  2. Make sure you click "Allow" on the Google permissions screen
  3. If using a managed Google account, check with your IT admin

Already connected but showing disconnected

Your OAuth token may have expired:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click "Reconnect Gmail"
  3. Sign in again with the same account

Email Sync

Emails not appearing

Wait for sync

Initial sync can take a few minutes. Check back shortly.

Trigger manual sync

Click the sync button in the dashboard header to force a sync.

Check email filters

Make sure Amazon emails aren't being filtered to a folder drizzlemail can't access.

Only some emails synced

drizzlemail syncs the most recent Amazon emails first:

  • Very old emails may not sync automatically
  • Sync runs periodically in the background
  • Each sync processes up to 100 emails

Sync seems stuck

If sync shows as "in progress" for more than 10 minutes:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click "Reset Sync"
  3. This clears the stuck state and allows a fresh sync

Display Issues

Cards not showing correctly

Refresh the page

Sometimes a simple refresh fixes display glitches.

Clear cache

Hard refresh with Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac).

Try incognito mode

If the issue persists, try incognito mode to rule out extension conflicts.

Dark mode not working

drizzlemail follows your system theme:

  1. Check your OS dark mode setting
  2. Some browsers have their own theme override
  3. Try toggling your system theme off and on
